BlueCats Tour works out of the box with any beacons in a BlueCats Site with an access type of Public.
You can also use the BlueCats Tour app with beacons in a private site by:
1. Create an app token in the Web App (instructions here)
2. Open the settings section in BlueCats Tour
3. Paste in the app token
The Tour section of BlueCats Tour sorts the informational cells based on the closest beacon to your device. The cells are based on the default StarterPack categories i.e. Category 1, Category 2, and Category 3. These are mapped to 'Explore the SDK', 'Cloud Platform', and 'BlueCats Beacon' respectively.
If any of the beacons are mapped BlueCats Tour will also show your location in relation to the closest beacon in range. This is shown with a green circle surrounding your estimated location much like in many map apps. A guide to the mapping tool can be found here.
While the web platform is not intended to be a messaging platform, you can also configure sample notifications using your beacons by setting some meta-data for your beacons. Create a new category in the Web App (https://app.bluecats.com/categories) e.g. "BlueCats Tour Notification", and then edit the category and add custom values (key value pairs) to your category with the keys "alertID", "alertBody" and "alertWebUrl".
You can then assign this category to one or more of your beacons:
This notification will be triggered when the app is not active and the phone first enters range of the beacon.
The notification can be triggered again by tapping 'Reset notifications' button in the BlueCats Tour app settings.
