I can't see my beacons

If you've fed your BlueCats Beacons, but are unable to detect them with BlueCats Reveal, let's cover off a few assumptions to check before going forward.

Battery Orientation
Confirm that the batteries are inserted correctly.  On our AA beacon the batteries are installed in opposite directions with the positive ends of the batteries are in the top right and bottom left hand corners when viewing from the back of the beacon.  
 

Bluetooth Low Energy
Make sure that Bluetooth on the device is enabled and that the device has BLE functionality.

Privacy Settings
iOS: Ensure that location services use is set to Always or While in Use under:
Settings > Privacy > Location Services > "App Name"


Android: Ensure that google location services for apps is turned on.

Ensure Your Device has Network Connectivity
The BlueCats SDK downloads beacon information on the first boot of your app to show you information about your beacons.
